情商情商

我,男,有点书呆子气,有点心高气傲,黑白分明,情商低。

话说去年(17年)升senior没有成,有一起工作过的Corporate Fellow和我说“I clearly know that you not getting advanced is a miscarriage of justice.”。他会后去找了CTO,也没有成。他同时也告诉我了主要原因: “The comments about overpressurization came from one person and he poisoned the management team with his comments.”  我也知道这个人是谁。Corporate Fellow还告诉我 - 我们部门Director (也是我原来的Manager) 在讨论会议上一点都没有defend我,心里那个气啊!之后这个Director找我现在manager和我一起专门开了一个电话会议讨论升职的事,我一声没坑。后来他来我们site,又和我说这事,我也没怎么搭理他,反正气氛不怎么好。

今年我manager主动和我说过多次升值的事,我就问他到底行不行?他说positive, 然后就准备材料交上去了。10月底CTO staff meeting后,我manager告诉我批准了(原则上升senior需要CTO以及一群Technology Director讨论通过)。

这个Director今年也见过几次,顶多礼节性地问声好。现在他又要来视察工作了,我就一直在想该如何面对他(没有他的批准与支持,也是升不了的)。也许是太小心眼了吧,还是不想和他说啥。不知道该和他说些什么,或许想多了,啥也不用说.....我算哪根葱啊...

Bring professionalism and enthusiasm when you meet him. Being able to communicate with the senior management is a must have skill if you are going to be a senior. Do some research and find out what what he likes and dislikes professionally and at a personal level so you can find topics to chitchat without getting into the red zone. Prepare some questions to ask on his long term vision, or a hot project he is working on. Present information on what you are working on and ask for advice. Talk about things outside of work that might be of interest to him. Make him feel welcomed and respected...

Forgot to mention to put your ego aside. This is a job that pays for bills so don't get too personal...

情商的确欠缺。再说了你怎么就能够100%确定这个Corporate Fellow没有忽悠你。从别人那里听说的坏话你应该当作不知道比较好。你这种态度反而跟老板结下梁子。
赞同上面同学说的。如果不想换工作,就不要跟老板对着干。即使不套近乎,起码要表示应有的礼貌的和友好。
